Ports and PICC lines are required for frequent or long term medical treatments, such as chemotherapy or IV nutrition. They are used to deliver medications, fluids, and nutrients directly into the bloodstream, offering a convenient alternative to frequent needle sticks.

If you require long-term intravenous access, Dr. Andrew Doe at Alate Health can perform either a port or PICC line placement depending on which is right for you, taking into consideration factors such as treatment duration, activity level and your overall health. The procedure is minimally invasive and performed on an outpatient basis.
